 Pre Release

Every time Hive was released, there had not been much to the releasing process. Thus, the idea was to stay true to the name "Hive" and create sufficient buzz around. Keeping this in mind, we came up with a minimalistic, cubic design of bees and hung them in the college foyer, alongside previous editions of Hive, all in a night's work. Students coming to the college the next day were delighted, surprised and curious were buzzing around the Hive like a swarm of bees themself.

 Building the Visual Language

The visual element was inspired by the structure of a beehive. Hexagons of various opacities were overlapped to create interesting forms & patterns. The pastel shades and play of opacities made the look and feel more mature and sophisticated, as compared to the informal visual language followed in the earlier editorials.
